An enchanting way of telling the time with the swivelling arm of Disney’s Mickey Mouse, the Gérald Genta Only Watch 2023 was created for the 10th edition of Only Watch in honor of to the 100th anniversary of Disney and the 50th anniversary of the first watch under the Gérald Genta name.

...Mickey Mouse came across the most enchanting complication in watchmaking: the minute repeater...
… Concretizing one of Mr. Genta's long held dreams to combine a joyfull Mickey Mouse and a minute repeater in a magical horological creation.
This defining horological creation features a white gold octagonal case with alterning polished and brushed surfaces – a hallmark design cherished by Mr. Genta for its very legible symmetry and spiritual significance.
The combination of a minute repeater with jumping hours that is completely synchronised, reliable, and energy-efficient, is a real watchmaking feat.
Michel and Enrico’s solution draws from their wealth of experience in complications, garnered over years of working with the Maestro. They crafted a system that assures perfect synchronisation between the time shown and the time struck.
Mickey Mouse’s swiveling arm pointing to the retrograde minutes along an arch marked 0 to 60 paired with a jumping hour complication and the minute repeater chiming the precise hour are key elements of Gérald Genta brand’s DNA.
This masterpiece is very meaningful for Michel Navas and Enrico Barbasini as this combination of complications had only been previously sketched by the Maestro but never concretized until now.

THE MANUFACTURE MOVEMENT
Overseen by Michel Navas and Enrico Barbasini, the new Caliber GG-001 has been designed and manufactured by La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton. Aside from the multiple complications ensuring the enchanting animation of the dial, the movement has been finished to the highest standards, with traditional decorations like anglage, perlage, and etirage.
In a nod to the Maestro himself, Michel and Enrico even designed an eight-sided, rather than round, flywheel bridge (striking speed governor).
