Care
This watch is a masterpiece of craftsmanship designed for everyday use.
We recommend the following care:
Water resistance: Please note that your watch is only water-resistant when its crowns are pushed in or screwed down (when applicable). When the watch is underwater, do not set the time or adjust or pull out the crowns. Rinse your watch with fresh water after any exposure to salt water. We recommend that you test the water resistance of your watch every year. If the water resistance is not accurate, a maintenance service will be required. You may request a water-resistance test for your gérald genta watch by submitting a form here
Condensation: In case of a sudden change of temperature, a small amount of condensation may appear beneath the glass of your watch. It will disappear on its own and will not prevent the watch from working properly. If the condensation persists, we recommend that you contact your gérald genta representative to have it checked, which you can do by submitting a form here
Frequency of service for a mechanical movement: We recommend that you have your movement serviced approximately every three years. Please contact your gérald genta representative to arrange for servicing.
Cleaning: We recommend cleaning your watch regularly with a soft, dry cloth to ensure that it maintains its aesthetic and functional characteristics.
Reading the time
Manual winding
To wind your watch, turn the crown located at 3 o’clock (crown A). Beginning at position 0, rotate the crown clockwise approximately 30 times (do not use excessive force, and stop when you meet resistance). If the crown is screwed down, you must first unscrew it before turning it clockwise to wind your watch.
Be sure to screw it back down to its initial position once your watch is fully wound to ensure water resistance.

Setting the time
Pull out the crown located at 3 o’clock (crown A) to position 1.
Turn the crown clockwise to adjust the hands until the correct time is displayed.
Once the time is set, push the crown back into its initial position.
If the crown is screwed down, you must first unscrew it before pulling it out to position 1 and setting the time.
Be sure to screw it back down to its initial position once the time is set to ensure water resistance.
Caution: Never set the time while the watch is chiming.
When the watch is underwater, do not set the time or adjust or pull out the crowns.
